Cute Things They Do Header

Oh those gems they say..the things they do...to make us laugh, cry or think.

This morning while I was still in my nightshirt, Nik was emptying out  his diaper bag. He brought over a diaper, pulled up my shirt, and  demonstrated that he wanted me to put the diaper on my breasts. I did,  and he went back for another diaper. I asked him, why he was putting his diapers on my breasts, and my 20 mo son, who only has about 20 words,  said, "bra."

Ultimately he gave me 5 diapers to wear at once, so he must have thought  I needed a lot of support *LOL*!

Arin (3yrs) agreed to let his grandad cut his hair tonight....grandad cut the fringe...then I asked Arin if grandad could cut the back.  Arin jumped up,
threw the towel off, yelled "NO!" and started running out of the bathroom.. I was a little confused until he yelled "You can't cut my back!!! There's no hair on it!!!"

I guess I shouldn't have been so literal :)

Oscar, too, has recently decided that when something hurts, it should be kissed to make it feel better.
Yesterday he bumped his arm reaching behind the couch, and he held his arm up for kissing.  I asked if it hurt, then said, "Kiss it to make it better."  He kind of liked the idea....but was a little unsure later how to do the same thing....he had fallen and hurt his back. =)  It was almost like watching a dog chase its tail.

My friend found her "special needs" 3yo with his head down the toilet
the other day. Nothing odd in that, you may say, but when he lifted his
head, she realised he had a straw in his mouth!!!

Eeek! She is now wondering if she should relactate to get him some
immunity before it's too late! :-^

"Arin (2yrs) was surveying a plate of spinach put before him as part of his tea.  He pushed it away saying "Mum, I don't want to eat Trees!"" - Deef 2yr old Coda's mum was amused to walk in on a sopping wet Coda and a murky fish tank with all sorts of things floating in it.  When she asked what they had put in the tank, 2yr old house guest Ikey replied "Teddy, toys and CODA!"
"My six year old was trying to play around with her two year old sister. . .at one point, I heard her goofing off, hollering, "You little nipple grabber!  You little nipple grabber!" I couldn't figure out what was going on, until I asked, "Do you mean 'you little *whipper-snapper*'?" She got kind of red-in-the-face, and rolled her eyes, saying, "Well, whatever!!"

Yesterday, when I was nursing Jane, Timmy  looked at me and then remarked 'Mama, you are the guy with the biggest breasts in our family!' :-)

History:
Several months ago, I walked into the living room and the kids were just howling with laughter...Travis had tears rolling down his face...and I heard muttered remarks about, "Mom"...so I asked what was up.  It was a TV commercial...for Duracell batteries...kids and grandkids arrive to visit grandma who is limboing...my kids were all laughing and saying, "OH! That's gonna be Mom!"  (The limboing grandma!!! Sheesh!)
Today:
Stacey and I were driving along...she says, "Mom, when you are "old enough" to drive a Cadillac or a Buick, you're not going to drive a gray, beige, white or black one."  (Now, I'm thinking, "WHAT?!?"  I drive a Ford Explorer - more  a truck than a car - I've never thought "big car thoughts" much less pale or bright...mine's forest green)  So, I bite.  "I'm not?" "No," she says, "I'm going to make sure that you have a fire engine red one or an emerald green one!  That's perfect for you!"
So they see me as a limboing grandma who drives a big, bright car?!?!? Just when I think they are pretty grown, they do something that makes me remember how funny kids are.

Last week we had childbirth classes at night and we had Erin, the baby sitter over to watch our (both still nursing) kids. I had gotten Timmy to sleep before we went out, and Cees was still up.

When we came home Timmy woke up, so I took him to our bed to nurse. Cees (who had been in his own bed) also came over to our bed and lay down next to me. He looked at us and he asked me 'Are you nursing Timmy, mama?'. I replied that I was. He thought for a little while and then he said very indignantly 'You know mama, Erin has not nursed me at all tonight!'.   :-) :-)

I suppose we forgot to mention to Erin that she should have nursed him :-)    And yes,  Cees got to nurse after Timmy was finished and he was happy then :-)
