The Nursing Baby - Your Breastfeeding Stories

I had my first daughter when I was 20, I tried to bf her but it was painful and I had little support so I quit at 3 months. My 2nd daughter was born in Dec, 2000 and I made the goal to bf her for at least one year. The first 2 weeks were hard, she and I had some trouble but we finally figured it out and now everything is going beautifully. I am going to bf her until she is ready to quit. We are planning to get pregnant next summer and I will bf that baby as long as it wishes!

If it weren't for my wonderful friends in MOPS I would probably have stopped bfing my baby and would be angry at myself. But now we are perfectly happy. I introduced solids between 5 and 6 months because she was reaching for them. She now loves to munch on just about anything that I can tear into small enough pieces!

I just hope that every mother at least thinks about bfing. Do not let anyone tell you that the decision that you make is a bad one.
