The Nursing Baby - Your Breastfeeding StoriesWhen my first child, a boy, was born, he was six weeks premature. I pumped for the first five weeks, but it all went into the bottle. He didn't know how to latch on and no matter what we did he wouldn't take the breast. By the time he was five weeks, I gave up pumping and fed him formula. Then came the second child, a girl, and at full term. I had decided to try one more time, with the help of my doctors persuading. She latched on right away. This was the best experience I ever had, it was great. And still is. But, now at 11 weeks she refuses to take a bottle, even with breastmilk in it. She'll scream and cry. I can't get a sitter. I am going to go to school in the summer, by that time she will be six mo. I cetainly hope that by then she will be able to take a bottle. Most people tell me that she won't starve, so she will eventually take the bottle. Well I certainly hope so. If anyone has any tips please feel free to contact me.
