I am desperate. I have been searching the web and other medical resources. I am 38 years old and have successfully nursed 4 (four) children. I am on baby number 4. My problem isn't nursing as much as it is getting rid of my large abdomen. I still look about 9months pregnant and that is without exageration. My son is now 11 months old, but the truth of the matter is I never lost my stomach from the first birth of 16 years ago. I want to diet and regain my frame back without looking awkard since baby number 4 is my last. I use to attend church prior to the pregnancy because although I had a stomach I was able to hide it, now I would have to return with wearing maternity clothes. This is awful. Everyone including my physician keeps trying to convince me to give it some time, but if history serves me correctly it has been long enough. I am tired of being asked if I am pregnant or when am I due. I have often considered surgery, but it is too expensive and I am afraid of the side effects not to mention since my stomach muscles have been so weakened I now have an imblical hernia. My question. Is there any help at all because sit-ups aren't doing it. When I diet my milk supply is definetly affected. I am a small frame women 5'2 weighing at 164lbs. which won't budge even with the most intensive diet and workout, and I still remain looking as if I was suffering from malnutrition. It is even hard for me to enjoy my last child and bond because I still look and feel as if I am carrying him. Do you have any advice? Sincerely, Jackie The Desperate

Although I really resisted doing it, counting calories has been working for me. I'm striving for under 1800 (but am "OK" at under 2000).
